About

Robert is currently a technical product manager who likes to write as a hobby. He’s never officially released any story, and as such has no titles for you to peruse or awards for you to gawk at. He’ll get around to it, someday. The very existence of this website is a self-attempt at shame until he does so.

He lives in Washington state with his wife and two kids. The primary thing that keeps him from writing more for himself is that he spends most of his time authoring whitepapers as a corporate drone for his day job. So, instead of writing at home he reads voraciously, plays role-playing videogames, and pretends to like hiking. He also adventures all over the Pacific Northwest with his best boy, Kylo the Shiba Inu (pictured).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you decide to become a… *checks notes*… some sort of amateur writer?

Originally, my hobby was indie game development *cough*RPG Maker*cough*. I wasted lots of time, money, and energy as a teenager and young adult starting up new game projects, or related projects, that never went anywhere for a myriad of reasons. Eventually, I realized the things I enjoyed about game development were worldbuilding, plot, and characters. Novels and short stories are way more effective ways to do those things.

What writing genres do you dabble in?

The handful of short stories and the novel I’ve written so far, which all are locked in the deepest recesses of my hard drive, are all either fantasy or science fiction, and sometimes both at the same time. My backlog list of ideas for the future doesn’t look any different.

What do you like to read?

Reading has become my favorite pastime as I’ve grown older. I’ve averaged around ~50 books completed per year for the past seven years or so (see my Goodreads profile if you want to follow along). This usually means reading a paperback on the shuttle to/from work, listening to an audiobook when exercising, or settling in on my Kindle in bed. I have a pretty eclectic reading interest, but I’ve always been inspired by the seminal works of fantasy and science fiction, particularly Tolkien, Asimov, or Le Guin.

What is your fashion style?

Costco.
